In March 2006, the 30kW photovoltaic power station of the original Linyi Solar Power Engineering Company's office building was connected to the grid, making it the first and largest grid-connected power station in the north of the Yangtze River at that time in Shandong Province. The power station was installed on the south-facing slope of the Linyi Power Engineering office building, connected to the user side, with self-generation and self-consumption, and surplus power fed into the grid, which is now known as a distributed power station, but there were no subsidies at the time. After the project was completed, it attracted great attention from government departments, industries, scientific and technological units, and the media, and was hailed by the news media as "Shandong's first power station".

China's photovoltaic industry started in 2002. At that time, it mainly relied on importing silicon wafers, processing them into components, and exporting them to European and American countries such as Germany. This meant that everything was outsourced: technology, raw materials, and markets. At that time, the Price of components was as high as 30 yuan/watt. Domestically, there were only sporadic image projects, such as solar streetlights and off-grid power stations. Projects were few and far between. Linyi Electric Power was also established in 2002. In 2004, it built Shandong's first photovoltaic power station: a 4kW off-grid power station for the Tai'an Procuratorate, which is still in operation today. Although the project was small, its significance was considerable.

Linergy Power Consortium wins bid for Shandong's largest 37MW distributed generation project
Linyi Power has recently celebrated consecutive successes. Following the June 6th win of a bid for a 20MW photovoltaic project in Linyi, Shandong province, aimed at boosting rural revitalization, on June 10th, the company, in a joint bid with the State Grid Shandong Integrated Energy Company, won another bid for a 37MW distributed generation project from the State Grid Shandong Company.
