In March 2006, the 30kW photovoltaic power station of the original Linyi Solar Power Engineering Company's office building was connected to the grid, making it the first and largest grid-connected power station in the north of the Yangtze River at that time in Shandong Province. The power station was installed on the south-facing slope of the Linyi Power Engineering office building, connected to the user side, with self-generation and self-consumption, and surplus power fed into the grid, which is now known as a distributed power station, but there were no subsidies at the time. After the project was completed, it attracted great attention from government departments, industries, scientific and technological units, and the media, and was hailed by the news media as "Shandong's first power station".

In March 2006, the 30kW photovoltaic power plant at the original Linyi Solar Power Engineering Company office building was connected to the grid, becoming the first in Shandong and the largest grid-connected plant north of the Yangtze River at that time. The power plant was installed on the south-facing slope of the Linyi Power Engineering office building, connected to the user side, with self-generation and excess power feeding into the grid—what is now known as a distributed power plant, but without subsidies at the time. After completion, the project attracted significant attention from government departments, industry, scientific and technological institutions, and the media, and was hailed by the news media as "Shandong's first power plant." At that time, the cost of photovoltaic power plants was as high as 60 yuan/watt, with less than 10MW of total annual installed capacity nationwide. The vast majority were off-grid power plants in areas without electricity such as Tibet, Xinjiang, and Inner Mongolia. As one of the earliest photovoltaic companies, Linyi Power's initial intention in building this project was to create a demonstration project to promote photovoltaic technology and accelerate the development of China's photovoltaic market. This project received the Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Demonstration Award.
