On December 29, 2017, after 14 days of intensive work day and night, good news came from the Linyi Electric Power Tower Base Station project—the first batch of 376 grid points were successfully connected to the grid. The tower base station project installs photovoltaic power stations on communication base stations, integrates into the national power grid, prioritizes power generation for communication base stations, collects electricity fees from China Tower Company, and simultaneously receives national and local photovoltaic power generation subsidies.

On December 29, 2017, after 14 days of intensive construction, day and night, good news came from the Linyi Electric Power Iron Tower Base Station project—the first batch of 376 network points were successfully connected to the grid. The iron tower base station project installs photovoltaic power stations on communication base stations, connects to the national power grid, gives priority to power supply for communication base stations, charges China Tower Company for electricity, and receives national and local photovoltaic power generation subsidies at the same time.
The first batch of 376 network points of the Linyi Electric Power Iron Tower project are distributed in five counties in Linyi City: Yinan County, Yishui County, Junan County, Hedong District, etc. The network points are extremely scattered, and the vast majority are located on mountaintops in mountainous areas, remote and inconvenient to reach. Almost all construction materials and components rely on manual transportation, making construction conditions extremely difficult.
The application procedures for the first batch of network points of the iron tower base station project were cumbersome. Printing materials alone totaled over 40,000 pages, coupled with insufficient manpower at the local power supply company and slow processing speed. To ensure project progress, Wang Jing, a member of the project team, spent nearly all of his time at the local power supply company, coordinating and processing relevant application matters. At his busiest, he could only rest for 5 or 6 hours a day, and working overnight became the norm.
As the implementation date of the 2018 distributed photovoltaic new policy approached, to ensure the owner maintained the benchmark electricity price, project manager Chen Weibin and project personnel worked intensely like a tightly wound top after materials arrived on December 15, 2017. Material application, relationship coordination, material preparation, construction organization, safety inspection, and technical demonstration were all advanced in an orderly manner. They would set off before dawn, transporting components and assembling systems, and working late into the night to connect and debug.
After 14 days of hard work by all personnel, at 9:40 pm on December 29, 2017, the first batch of 376 network points of the Linyi Electric Power Iron Tower base station project were successfully connected to the grid. In this campaign, project engineers and business personnel worked together to overcome the difficulties of insufficient manpower, took the initiative to take responsibility, and grew into versatile all-rounders, accumulating experience and honing the team for the next phase two project.
