The tenacious and hardworking spirit of the Yellow River culture is just a phrase for many, but for the people of Linyi Electric Power today, it is the sum of countless concrete actions.

10Month3Day-10Month18On the day, Feng Xuebin, Chief Financial Officer of Linyi Electric Power Group; Yang Zhenxi, Vice President of the Design Institute; Ma Yubiao, HR Director; Man Jianfang, Director of the Financial Accounting Department; and Zhang Chenglin, After-sale Service Specialist of the Engineering Safety and Environmental Protection Center, traveled tirelessly over8500kilometers to gain a better understanding of the Group's subordinate power plants, completing the tasks assigned by the company and submitting a complete power plant investigation report.

Linyi people have always been efficient and organized in their work. Upon receiving the research task from General Manager Gao, the team immediately organized a discussion meeting, finalized the itinerary, and contacted the heads of each power plant in advance to inform them to prepare the necessary materials.“We finalized our itinerary after 10 pm, and I immediately called my spouse to ask for help preparing my clothes and luggage, because the trip included bothJilinand Yunnan, with significant differences in climate”, said Ma Yubiao, adding that they also prepared instant noodles in advance. To thoroughly investigate the situation of each power plant, we had to work "five days a week, and work overtime" and travel day and night.

Instant noodles were always kept in their bags Daily sleep was only4hours

In fact, everyone carried instant noodles in their bags every day during this investigation, because the power plants were indeed very remote and the journey was long, with potentially long stretches without any villages or towns along the way. For example, the first stop was the Zhenlai Power Plant, which required first flying to Changchun, then transferring to Baicheng from Changchun, and then to Zhenlai from Baicheng. The journey from Changchun to Zhenlai alone took more than four hours. They set off early in the morning and arrived at the Zhenlai Power Plant near noon.

Then came the intensive and orderly research work: inspecting each location of the power plant, discussing issues with the station manager, and reviewing all the power plant's data, which lasted until almost12o'clock in the evening. After finishing their work, they checked into a hotel in the county town in the early hours of the morning, only then realizing they hadn't eaten. Fortunately, they had instant noodles and bought some sausages from a nearby supermarket, which was their dinner after a busy day.

The next day, before6o'clock, they got up and rushed back to the power plant to continue their research. When they got hungry, they cooked their own meals in the power plant's kitchen and then continued working until about 3 pm. They returned to Changchun station in the evening at9o'clock. To catch the next morning's flight, they checked into a hotel near the airport, reviewed the Zhenlai research findings, and then rested for about4hours, which was16in the morning on the5o'clock, they got up to catch the plane. In total, the team averaged only4hours of sleep in two days. “Fortunately,in the car,on the train, and on the plane, we could catch up on sleep”, said Ma Yubiao.

A pack of instant noodles gave them a deeper understanding of“One family, one table”

In fact, the investigation was a temporary task, and the team members also had to handle many of their regular duties during the investigation. Yang Zhenxi had to deal with some work at the research institute, and as the chief designer of the power center, he also acted as a“teacher”, explaining power plant knowledge to colleagues newly assigned to the power group; while Ma Yubiao conducted research, studied, and handled HR-related work for the power group. They were multitasking, but this intense workload did not lower their standards for the investigation.

Getting up at5o'clock in the morning, until the afternoon at17o'clockAfter about12hours of plane and+long-distance bus travel, they finally arrived in Lanping, Yunnan, and began a new day of investigation.

Feng Xuebin said that the living conditions at the Lanping power plant were very difficult, even more difficult than he had imagined. The entire power plant only had one small cooking pot, which could only cook one pack of instant noodles at a time. When there were many people, even eating was a problem.“But under these conditions, I found the instant noodles particularly delicious,” Feng Xuebin recalled, saying that he had a different understanding of “one family, one table” at that moment.

Finding joy in hardship Each power plant is a scenic spot

Ma Yubiao also had many feelings. Some power plants were sparsely populated, and although they could cook in the power plant kitchen, buying vegetables was inconvenient. In addition, loneliness was a challenge that on-duty personnel had to overcome. There were also problems with drinking water at the power plant. Seeingthe on-duty personnel at the power plant, they no longer felt that their few days of investigation were hard; the maintenance personnel were the hardest workers.

Therefore, Ma Yubiao said that this time, they not only went to the site to investigate and understand the situation, but also represented the group in sending care and understanding to the on-duty personnel. It was not an inspection, but an opportunity to communicate with them, discuss existing problems, and seek solutions.

During a break, Yang Zhenxi climbed onto the roof to check the protective measures and couldn't help but say: “What a beautiful environment!” So everyone took a break from their work and climbed onto the roof to take in the vast expanse of components and facilities. Perhaps for every Linyi Electric Power employee, each power plant is a beautiful landscape.
