Currently, Xinjiang has built a 10-million-kilowatt renewable energy base in Hami and more than 10 million-kilowatt renewable energy clusters in Zhundong, Dabangcheng, and Baili wind farm areas. The renewable energy projects under construction exceed 70 million kilowatts. By 2025, Xinjiang's grid-connected renewable energy capacity is expected to reach more than 116 million kilowatts, exceeding half of Xinjiang's total energy capacity.

On the vast Gobi Desert in Wuli County, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, rows of photovoltaic panels are neatly arranged. This is the first external clean energy new energy station of China Petroleum Tarim Oilfield Company——10megawatt photovoltaic project location. In the first few months of this year,8the photovoltaic project has cumulatively produced green electricity6592megawatt-hours.

Yang Gang, manager of the oil and gas production technology department of Tarim Oilfield Company, introduced that as of early this year,9the company's new energy photovoltaic power generation project has cumulatively produced more than green electricity1billion kilowatt-hours.

Xinjiang is rich in solar and wind energy resources. In recent years, Xinjiang has vigorously developed the new energy industry and built large-scale wind power and photovoltaic bases in deserts and Gobi areas. On New Year's Day this year, the Altay region of the State Power Investment Xinjiang Company25megawatt grid-connected wind power project achieved its first wind turbine grid connection. This project has a total of40wind turbines, with a single unit power generation capacity of6.25megawatts, which is one of the projects with the largest single-unit capacity among the wind farms already put into production in Xinjiang.9month19day, Xinjiang's largest single photovoltaic base project——China Huadian Xinjiang Tacheng Multi-energy Complementary Base100megawatt photovoltaic power generation project was fully connected to the grid, which can add green electricity annually18billion kilowatt-hours.

Li Chenyang, director of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Energy Bureau, introduced that Xinjiang has currently built the Hami 10-million-kilowatt-level new energy base and more than10million-kilowatt-level new energy clusters such as Zhundong, Dabangcheng, and Bai Li wind power area, with new energy projects under construction exceeding7000megawatts. By2025year, Xinjiang's new energy grid-connected installed capacity is expected to reach1.16billion kilowatts or more, exceeding half of Xinjiang's total energy installed capacity.

By extending, supplementing, strengthening, and expanding the industrial chain, Xinjiang is focusing on building a complete new energy industrial chain.

Silicon photovoltaics, silicon chemicals, silicon alloys, silicon electronics and other industrial chains are constantly expanding. This year6month, Xinjiang's largest single crystal silicon industry project——Xinjiang Jingpin12GW high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon ingots and silicon wafer project (Phase I) was put into production in Karamay City, filling the gap in the production of high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon ingots and monocrystalline silicon wafers in Xinjiang. Chen Chuncheng, chairman of Jiangsu Jingpin New Energy Co., Ltd., the project investor, said that the company will attract more high-tech enterprises and upstream and downstream related enterprises in the silicon-based new material industry to invest and start businesses in Xinjiang, jointly creating a new material industry cluster.

The new energy equipment industry continues to upgrade. The general assembly plant of Hami Goldwind Wind Power Equipment Co., Ltd. mainly produces a new generation of medium-speed permanent magnet units, and has currently formed a wind power equipment industry cluster including complete machine manufacturing and parts supply."We have newly expanded the Phase II project with an annual capacity of500megawatts, which will further promote the upgrading of the Hami wind power equipment manufacturing industry."Liang Tengfei, deputy director of the factory, said. Today, the local manufacturing rate of key components of the Hami wind power equipment industry has reached70%or more, becoming an important wind power equipment manufacturing base in China.

"Xinjiang is promoting the coupled and coordinated development of new energy with energy storage, coal chemical industry, petrochemical industry, electric vehicles, new materials and other industrial clusters, and vigorously cultivating the upstream and downstream entire industrial chain of photovoltaic silicon-based, wind power and power transmission and transformation equipment research and development, production, supporting components, and operation and maintenance services."Li Chenyang said.
